If you can get your hands on an old spool, this clever tutorial from Pink Stitches will help you transform it into a practical and stylish portable bookcase.

What you’ll need:

- A small cable spool
- Wooden dowel rods
- 3 to 4 swivel wheels
Glue
Saw
Measuring Tape
- Paint
- Drill and screws

  1. Paint your spool and your dowels. A white Behr paint with the primer already mixed into it was used here.
  2. Once the spool is dry, turn it upside down and position your wheels where you want them. Using 4 wheels will ensure the bookcase is extra secure. Drill wheels into place.
  3. Next, measure the gap between the top and the bottom of the table. This will be the size your wooden dowels should be. Using the saw, cut about 5-6 dowels.
  4. Position and place the dowels around the table using moulding glue. You want them about a foot apart. Hold the dowels in place while they dry. If you cut them down to the perfect size, you don't even need to hold them. They should just stand on their own.
  5. Once the dowels are dry, your bookcase is ready to be filled with books!
