By visiting the DIY Direct website you accept and agree to the content of these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to change the Terms and Conditions at any time and it is your responsibility to check them regularly and before placing an order. This does not affect your statutory rights.
These Terms and Conditions form the entire basis of any agreement reached between you and us.
When placing an order you undertake that all details you provide to us are true and accurate, that you are an authorised user of the credit or debit card used to place your order and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods.
When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgement e-mail confirming receipt of your order. This email will only be an acknowledgement and will not constitute acceptance of your order. We retain the right to accept or reject this order before processing it. A contract between us for the purchase of the goods will not be formed until your payment has been approved by us, the prices have been verified, and the order has been processed and despatched. A second email will be sent confirming the order has been despatched.
All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price. We may choose not to accept your order for any reason and we will not be liable to you or to anyone else in such circumstances.
Prices include VAT at the current rate.
Whilst we try and ensure that all details, descriptions and prices that appear on this website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of any goods you have ordered we will inform you of this as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled.
The website may contain typographical errors or other errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or current. We therefore reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice. We reserve the right to refuse to fulfil any orders that you may place based on information on the website that may contain errors or inaccuracies, including, without limitation, errors, inaccuracies or out-of-date information regarding pricing, shipping, payment terms, or return policies.
Product Specifications and Suitability
Published product details, specifications and suitability information is the best available at the time. DIY Direct shall not be held responsible for the accuracy of any advice given regarding the suitability (or otherwise) of any part/s required for the repair of an item. If you have ordered an item that has an unsuitable product description we will remedy this by providing you a full refund upon the return of the item. Please see the Returns section of our website for details.
We encourage you to ensure all products are fitted by a competent person in accordance with manufacturer specifications. DIY Direct cannot be held liable for any damage caused by the fitting of a product.
Please ensure that you have read your warranty conditions before attempting to install a product or otherwise repair item. DIY Direct cannot be held responsible if the item is damaged or your warranty is voided.
We endeavour to hold sufficient stock to meet all orders and to despatch orders on the same working day as we receive them, or on the following working day at the latest.
If we have insufficient stock to supply or deliver the goods ordered and paid for by you, at our discretion we may process any part of the order which is available.
Where goods are out of stock, we will refund you the price paid for such goods as soon as possible and in any case within 14 days. If this adjustment to your order value lowers it to below the delivery-paid threshold you will not be charged for delivery on the remainder of the order.
If you have ordered multiple items they may arrive separately.
Any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are subject to any delays resulting from postal delays or force majeure. DIY Direct has no liability to you for any delay in the delivery of products ordered.
Occasionally we find ourselves having to withdraw an item because it has become obsolete or has been discontinued. If you have placed an order for an item that has been made obsolete we will inform you as soon as possible and offer you an alternative if one is available.
In the unlikely event of an order being supplied incomplete or goods arriving damaged in transit, the buyer must notify us in writing within 7 days of delivery. Without prejudice to your right to cancel orders generally under these Terms & Conditions, we may at our option offer to make good any shortage or non-delivery, or cancel the order (or part of the order affected) and refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question.
You may cancel your order at any time prior to receiving the order despatch notification email. Please notify us of a cancellation as soon as possible by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and including your name, order number and a brief explanation. We will endeavour to stop cancelled orders from being despatched, but this depends on what processing stage the order has reached and contacting us prior to receiving the order despatch notification email does not guarantee that we will be able to stop it being despatched.
Cancelled orders will be refunded in full, including any delivery charge.
In the event your cancellation instruction is too late to prevent the order from being despatched, you must visit the Returns section of our website and follow the returns instructions.
Returning Unwanted Items
Our 30 Day Money Back Guarantee gives you 30 days from the date of delivery to return an item.
Once the goods are returned to us we will give you a full refund, as long as the item is unused, in the same condition it was sent to you, in the original packaging and with any promotional items received with the purchase.
To notify us that you wish to return an unwanted item, please use the returns form provided on the Returns section of our website to create a returns request.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us and for ensuring it is packaged securely. Failure to do so may result in your return being refused and/or any refund due being reduced.
We must receive the item you are returning within 14 days of you creating the Returns request. If more than 14 days passes, the returns request will expire automatically. Once a returns request has expired, we will not accept return of the item and/or the item will be returned to you at your cost and/or your refund may be refused or reduced.
If you return all the items from a particular order and you paid a delivery charge on that order, we will refund the standard delivery charge you paid (or an amount equal to the standard delivery charges if you elected to upgrade to a more expensive delivery method).
We will refund you as soon as possible after we receive and check the goods and in any case within 14 days of receipt. We reserve the right to make a deduction from the amount of the refund for loss in value of the goods returned where the goods show signs of unreasonable use; for these purposes, unreasonable use includes handling the goods beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Returning Faulty Items
If an item you purchase develops a fault you can return it to us for exchange or full refund, provided you notify us within 30 days of the date of delivery. To notify us that you wish to return a faulty item, please use the returns form provided on the Returns section of our website to create a returns request.
An exchange can only be for a brand new, like-for-like product.
To notify us that you wish to return an unwanted item, you must use the form on the Returns page of our website to create a Returns request.
We are responsible for the delivery charge incurred in returning the item to us, so we will provide you with a pre-paid address label for you to use. You are responsible for ensuring the item is packaged securely, failure to do so may result in your return being refused and/or any refund due being reduced or the exchange being declined.
Please enclose only the items listed on the Returns Form for the faulty item. Where we pay the return delivery charge and you enclose items not listed on the Returns form for the faulty item, we may reduce your refund to pay for any extra cost we incur.
We must receive the item you are returning within 14 days of you creating the Returns request. If more than 14 days passes, the returns request will expire automatically. Once a returns request has expired, we will not accept return of the item and/or the item will be returned to you at your cost and/or your refund may be refused or reduced or the exchange may be declined.
We will process your exchange or refund as soon as possible after we receive and inspect and approve your returned item, but in any case within 14 days of receipt. If a refund and where the returned item(s) form the entire original order and you paid a delivery charge on that order, we will also refund the standard delivery charge you paid (or an amount equal to the standard delivery charges if you elected to upgrade to a more expensive delivery method).
If inspection of the returned item reveals no fault we reserve the right to deduct from your refund the cost of returning the item to us.
If an item develops a fault more than 30 days after the date we despatch it to you, and where the manufacturer provides a helpline, repair service or warranty, you must contact the manufacturer directly. If the manufacturer offers no such service or warranty and less than 6 months has passed since you received the goods then in most cases we will offer a repair or where this is not possible, we will replace the item with the same or an equivalent model.
If an item is faulty or damaged on delivery you must notify us immediately using the Returns section of our website.
Payment can be made with most major credit or debit cards or by PayPal. Transactions will appear on your statement as "DIYDIRECT.COM” By using a credit/debit card to pay for your order you confirm that the card being used is yours or that you are authorised to use it. By using PayPal you confirm that the PayPal account being used is yours.
All credit or debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. All PayPal payments are subject to authorisation by PayPal. If the card issuer or PayPal refuses to authorise payment we will not accept your order or purchase, we will not be obliged to inform you of the reason for the refusal and we will not be liable for the item not being delivered or provided to you. We are not responsible for the card issuer or bank charging the holder of the card as a result of our processing of your credit or debit card payment in accordance with your order or purchase or if PayPal charges you for making the order.
Due to the nature of the clearing system your payment will be taken at the point of processing.
Any refunds will be made to the payment method used when placing the original order.
If your delivery address is outside of the UK, you may be required to pay import duties and taxes when your DIY Direct order reaches your country. These and any additional charges for customs clearance are your responsibility.
From time to time, we may offer discount vouchers that can be applied during the checkout process and which apply a discount to one or more products on an order.
Only one discount voucher may be used per order and they cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer code or promotion.
Discount vouchers are valid for a limited period.
The newsletter subscription voucher may only be used once per customer/business/household.
We reserve the right to refuse to accept a discount voucher for any reason.
All of DIY Direct’s in-stock products are eligible for Price Match, subject to the following conditions:
The competitor’s product must be identical to that offered by DIY Direct (e.g. same size, colour, specification, model year, pack quantity, etc.).
The competitor and DIY Direct must both have the product in stock at the time of price matching.
The competitor’s price must be publicly available to buy online for at least twenty four hours and must be verifiable at the time of the price matching.
The competitor’s price cannot include any volume, personal or membership discounts. We cannot match multi-item promotional offers like "buy one get one free”, bulk buying discounts or part exchange discounts.
The competitor must sell directly to consumers e.g. no auction websites such as eBay.
No other promotional offers or loyalty discounts can be used with a product that is price matched i.e. discount vouchers cannot be applied to price matched products to receive a further discount.
Multiple items may be purchased, quantities must be reasonable for personal use or consumption.
DIY Direct reserves the right to decline matches against competitor prices that reasonably appear to be in error, or against illegitimate or counterfeit stock. We also reserve the right to cease or modify this Price Match policy at any time.
Where we offer a free gift with a product or purchase, we shall only provide one free gift per transaction (irrespective of how many products are purchased). The free gift is subject to availability and we reserve the right to change the free gift for a suitable substitute. Where qualification for a free gift is dependent on a minimum spend, only full-price, non-discounted products count towards the qualification calculation.
Where goods are purchased as part of a promotion and then returned (except for an exchange where products are faulty/defective), and the purchase of those goods enabled you to purchase other goods at a reduced price, we are entitled to either require the return at your cost of all goods purchased as part of that promotion or to charge you for the goods retained by you at the full price quoted on this site.
DIY Direct Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law. Disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
We encourage you to leave product reviews on our website. We monitor this content and we reserve the right to reject, edit or remove it at any time. When submitting a product review to our website you understand that what you have submitted is not copyright protected and you are permitting its appearance on the DIY Direct website.
We shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages or expenses. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to property, lost income, profits, economic or commercial losses and third parties claims.
We will do our best to get all orders despatched as quickly as possible. We have no liability to you for any delay in the delivery of products ordered.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
Age restrictions apply to some goods we supply. By ordering these goods, you are confirming that you are over 18 and that the person receiving the delivery is also over 18. To make sure we are keeping to the law, we may occasionally have to ask you to provide proof of age (either in person, by email, fax or post).

DIY Direct is compliant with the EU Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive.
When purchasing new electrical equipment from us, customers can send their old, equivalent item to us for recycling. Please use the ‘Other information’ section on the order page to inform us you wish to send us an item (functionality TBC), detailing exactly what the type, make and model of the item is and which item on your DIY Direct order it is equivalent to. We will then provide you with details of where to send it.
Payment of postage to send the old item to us is your responsibility.
Alternatively, you can take items to your local recycling centre for them to be processed.
